Electrical Located centrally in the motorhome
are the Electrical switch boards, The Generator remote start
panel, the ceiling fan speed control unit and the fluid level
meters for the Fresh, Grey and Black water tanks. Below this
area in the same cabinet is the 1000w entertainment system
inverter and below that some shelves set aside for linen storage.
This is all enclosed by the antique white vinyl wrap cabinet
door. The three switch boards shown here are for the
distribution of mains or generator 240 ac power, 240v inverter
power , and 12 DC house battery system power. All with isolating
circuit breakers.
A further switch board mounted at the front of the motorhome
provides further distribution and protection of 240v incoming and
generator power including earth leakage.

The Lighting system
The lighting system uses the Clipsal "C-Bus"
technology. Fitted with 8 dimmer circuits and 12 relay circuits,
the system controls 12v exterior lighting, 24v bin lighting, an
external ventilation fan, overhead bedroom ceiling fan , and the
16 - 20w down-lights capable of switching and dimming sequences.
These also control the 12v exhaust fans for both the toilet and
shower rooms. All lighting and accessories can be turned of by one
button at the exit and both sides of the master bedroom
suite. The picture left shows the multi function switches
with blue nightlight background illumination. Each button
can be pre-programmed for any desired function as required.
A good example is one of the buttons in the lounge area
has been programmed to turn off all lights in the kitchen lounge
area, then dim two lights each side of the television to 15%
illumination, dim the light outside the fridge to 30% , and set
the lighting in the bedroom area to 25%. This give excellent
viewing of the DVD , whilst lighting up the fridge in the event a
cool drink is required , and illuminating the bedroom area just
enough so you can check on the children or make your way to bed at
the end of the night. Each to their own , and this can be changed
as required. The toilet and vanity area lighting also employs
this technology where when a light in either of these areas is
turned on the 12V exhaust fan in the respective area also turns
on. When the light is turned off , the CBUS system then waits 3
minutes and then turns off the appropriate exhaust fan. The fans
can also be manually over ridden if required. |
